Sr. Elvira took over the charge as Executive Principal in 2004. She joined Lourdes Convent School in 1997 as a staff member and assumed the post of a Manager in 1998. She has 18 years of teaching experience to her credit in Holy Angel High School from 1979 to 1996. She was acting secretary to Superior General of the Carmelite Congregation in 1993. |

As all great things have humble beginning, so is Lourdes Convent Higher Secondary School. In the year 1958, the sisters of the Sacred Heart Congregation established the school with 26 students. It grew from Pre-Primary section to S.S.C board adding one grade each year. In the view of fully devoting themselves to social work they handed over the institution in 1978 to the Carmelite Order. Mother Veronica of the Passion founded the Congregation of the Carmelite Religious on July 16, 1868 in France. Through education and other works of mercy, the Carmelites seek to promise the Kingdom Value of Justice, Fellowship and Freedom, thereby bringing harmony in society of life especially to the "target group" of the locality. This Congregation is known for excellent in the field of education. There Head Quarters is Holy Angel's Convent, Trivandrum. Since then the school ever spiraling up has attained the present stature. Now it stands tall in fame as one of the best schools of Surat city.
