Brooch |

|
Information |
|
|
A piece of women’s ornamental jewellery having a pin allowing it to be fixed to garments worn on the upper body.
|
|
A brooch, also known in ancient times as a fibula; sometimes spelled broach, a different word, in the USA- is a decorative jewellery item designed to be attached to garments. It is usually made of metal, often silver or gold but sometimes bronze or some other material. Brooches are frequently decorated with enamel or with gemstones and may be solely for ornament (as in the stomacher) or sometimes serve a practical function as a fastening, perhaps for a cloak.
The earliest known brooches are from the Bronze Age. As fashions in brooches changed rather fast, they are important chronological indicators.

| Wedding Kalash Decor Tips… |
| |
| Kalash, or Kalasa, is an indispensable element in important pujas associated |
| with Hinduism, especially in South India. Kalasa or Kalash means a pot to carry water. |
| Brass or silver Kalasa is usually used for poojas. Kalash symbolically represents the |
| Goddess in most pujas. It is an important aspect during Navratri Puja. Here is a step by |
| step guide to prepare a Kalasa for a simple Hindu Puja. |
| |
| Requirements for Kalash: |
| |
A medium sized brass or silver pot, Turmeric powder, Kumkuma, Water, Coconut, |
Mango leaves, Coins, Rice, Dried fruit, Flowers, Pieces of mirriors, Colouring Stones, Lase, |
A Piece of unstitched cloth (bandhani), Fevi Quick Gum for stick all things.. |
| |
- Typically, kalash is a sacred pot containing a coconut that is surrounded by mango leaves. The sacred pot is usually made of brass. Silver kalash is also considered auspicious for the occasion, although it is hardly put in use.
|
- Kalash can be decorated in a number of ways. Traditionally, people make beautiful designs on the outer portion of the pot. Painting is done outside the kalash.
