We want to quench the thirst of knowledge of students excelling in the field of environmental engineering and other prospective fields.

Government of India set a target to make India a developed nation by 2020 through its Technology Vision 2020 Mission project being implemented by TIFAC. Scientific and Technical manpower constitutes one of the major input resources to the economic development of a nation. It is a triangular linkage between Industry, Institute and Government and the mission was launched by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, the then Chairman, TIFAC and the Principal Adviser to the Govt. of India on October 4, 2000.

Centre of Excellence provides an ideal platform to researchers, teachers, students and professionals to focus on emerging frontiers of knowledge, to promote horizontal and vertical networking, to improve quality of research, training and teaching and ultimately to create a knowledge base in accordance with socio-economic and environmental needs of society. Particular attention is given to research and capacity building both for individuals and institutions having regard to environmental concerns in the process of environmental management & pollution control in next few decades.

The centre is one of the advanced centres providing facilities for upgrading technical competence by establishing post graduate courses in environmental engineering and also organizing some short and long duration field/job oriented courses. The major area of the centre is Consultancy, Research, and Testing & Monitoring by extending technical knowledge
